James Bernard Lee Gordon Jr was born on July 2, 1941, in Washington, DC. He enlisted in the US Army on and served as an Infantryman throughout his time in the Army. He married and had 3 children with his wife Brenda. He was Killed in Action on Feb 1, 1970, in Quang Ngai Province I Corps while a passenger in a helicopter which suffered transmission failure, killing all eleven onboard. He is buried in Arlington National Cemetery.
